Since 1888 the railroad has been a major element of the Mt. Shasta area. Today the trains still travel those same tracks that run parallel to Mt Shasta Blvd (Main St.). The tracks are located across the street from the Inn. Amtrak offers service to the area with a station stop at the Dunsmuir Train Depot.
